The ETIS website is intended to operate primarily as a static publication and resource site.
The site does not intentionally require reader accounts or collect personal information through comments, payment systems, or public user profiles.
ETIS Privacy Philosophy¶
ETIS is built around engineering trust.
The website is designed to minimize unnecessary data collection and tracking while providing access to the Framework, Two-Volume Edition, Publications Program, Educational Ecosystem, Engineering Platform, downloads, and repository resources.
Personal information should be collected only when there is a clear, legitimate purpose and an appropriate method for handling it.
Hosting and Technical Logs¶
The site may be hosted through GitHub Pages or comparable static-site infrastructure.
Hosting, content-delivery, domain, or security providers may process standard technical information such as:
- IP address;

- requested pages;
- timestamps;
- referring pages;
- diagnostic, security, or access logs.
Those providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Analytics and Tracking¶
Current status: the ETIS publication site does not intentionally configure advertising trackers, cross-site behavioral tracking, or user-profiling tools.
If analytics or other measurement services are added, this page should be updated to identify the service, purpose, and data implications.
Browser, hosting, network, or external-service behavior may still create technical logs outside ETIS control.
Email and Contact Information¶
When a reader contacts ETIS by email, the message may include personal information supplied by the sender, such as name, email address, institution, organization, and the contents of the inquiry.

The ETIS website is not designed to collect personal information from children.
Students and instructors should not publish protected student records, grades, personally identifiable educational records, confidential team information, or sensitive project data in public repositories or public ETIS communications.
Institutional users remain responsible for their own privacy, records, and educational-compliance obligations.

No website or email system can guarantee absolute security.
ETIS encourages responsible information sharing, minimal disclosure, and use of appropriate institutional or organizational channels for sensitive matters.
Security vulnerabilities affecting an external hosting or repository platform should also be reported through that platform's established process where appropriate.
